"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

The only thing good books want from you is your attention from time to time.
Never underestimate the power of good books.

On this page you will find informative and even entertaining books and other resources—DVDs, E-books, and useful articles—by people whose opinion I value or knowledge I admire, and also by me. With these selections I intend to help you in your quest for a valuable professional and/or personal goal. I will cover a wide array of topics; some you might find inspirational, informative or educational, while others may seem irrelevant to the general topic of this web site.

Though you should be critical in what sources you consult for information and use for entertainment, don't discard everything that seems strange or foreign to you. Remember that sound judgement, critical thinking, and open-mindedness are crucial to durable success. You should, therefore, examine everything you read, see or hear from all sides and judge it on its merit.

Above all else, don't stick to the same old same old; widen your horizons as often as you can.

(I apologize for not having complemented this list yet—I am too busy reading!!)

Prof T. Colin Campbell’s “The China Study”

has saved not only my life but the life of countless others. The book is an excellent description of the most comprehensive study of nutrition ever conducted. It presents a clear and concise message of hope (and practical advice) as it dispels a multitude of health myths and misinformation. The bottom line: If you want to be healthy, change your diet. Advancing through the book, first you will be sad than extremely mad at the powers that be. The powers, aka massive business interests of the food and pharma industries, who don’t give a damn if you live or die. Read this book and cry, then save your life and the life of your loved ones. A must-read book.

“The Inspirations of Tao Zhu-gong: Modern Business Lessons from an Ancient Past,” by Prof.WEE Chou Hou, Singapore.

The book discusses the 12 business principles of Tao Zhu-gong, a military strategist who became a businessman more than 2000 years ago. Professor WEE “spans the two worlds of ancient and modern strategic thinking, offering lessons that are practical and meaningful in today’s global business environment.” Dr.WEE provides an excellent source of wisdom both for business owners and for people wanting to become successful in their business environment.

“The Food Revolution: How Your Diet can help save your life and our world.”

John Robbins, renegade offspring of the Baskin-Robbins ice-cream dynasty, has again written a mind-boggling, shocking, and provocative book about the dangers behind many of today’s foods. He also reveals the extraordinary benefits of healthy alternatives. Read what Marianne Williamson, author of A Return to Love has to say about the book:

“…Another brilliant, mind-altering, paradigm-shifting, lifestyle-changing, heart-expanding book from the most powerfully sane man I know….”

“Train Your Mind Change Your Brain: How a new Science reveals our extraordinary potential to transform ourselves.”

Sharon Begley, science columnist for The Wall Street Journal wrote a book about the groundbreaking collaboration between neuroscience and Buddhism that is a constant “mental staple” in my home. This book is full of hope and excitement. Contrary to the conventional wisdom held by neuroscience that the hardware of the brain is fixed and immutable, Ms. Begley describes the revolutionary shift in paradigm: Our brain can adapt, heal, renew itself after trauma, and compensate for disability. “(Our brain)…is not static. Not fixed. Subject to continual change. Adaptable. Yes, the brain can change, and that means we can change.” But it’s not easy…it is well-nigh impossible without attention and mental effort.

Some web sites for your health:

www.pcrm.org

www.vegsource.com

On these sites you'll find a host of information and videos to watch online. Also, you can download quite a few. You'll wonder how little you are told by your physicians--for example that your health is largely in your hands. What a relief!

Tongue–in–cheek

Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."
